When you measure the skill of a fish by its ability to jump over a wall, you're obviously measuring wrong. Where purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable. We measure a thing by its worth.
Two most important days in life are
1. The day you were born
2. The day you discover why you were born.
There are two important factors here... Finding ourselves and losing ourselves. We find ourselves when we discover purpose..we lose ourselves when purpose becomes bigger than us. If we give ourselves to God; to a greater cause, we will effectively do both. God has thoughts and plans for us.
Many people face depression because they don't know who they are..hence they feel unfulfilled. You must ask your self what you are passionate about.. Your passion is the keyhole to your purpose. Become your strength.. Flow leads to fortune.
We must also be careful because it is possible to be passionate about something you're not good at...(I'm sure we have all seen some music auditions) so beyond passion you must find things you naturally do better than other people, stay in the place of your strength, play in the areas where you're good at. The world is so average, but passion sets you above average, passion and strength will take you where nothing else will take you. Next is your specialized knowledge, your skill set, things you have been trained to do.
The way you show up to the world is through the filter of your aptitudes.
How do we lose ourselves? We lose ourselves when we give ourselves to something bigger than us.
When you're bigger than your purpose you have a career, but when your purpose is bigger than you, you have a calling!
Most of us want to make a difference, we only make a difference by doing something that makes a difference. You lose yourself by doing something that has eternal value, something that lives beyond you. Surround yourself with people of similar passion, people with whom you bleed through similar pains. God calls us to affect lives through our passion, strength and skills, we are called to lose ourselves to God's purpose.
You find your self in success, you lose yourself in significance. Your purpose must be greater than you.
